Ensuring food safety for consumers
On Tuesday, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the municipal Consumers Protection Association organised a seminar entitled ‘The work of ensuring food safety for consumers and the health of the elderly’ in response to Viet Nam's Consumer Rights Day 2023.
In order to protect consumers, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade has continued to coordinate with the municipal Consumers Protection Association and relevant departments and agencies to organise training courses on fostering knowledge on human resource development to protect consumers' interests. Also, the focus has been on integrating legal education on consumer protection into training and teaching programmes for pupils and students.
In addition, efforts have been made to increase inspections to control and closely monitor market developments, and assess the quality of consumer goods and services; as well as raise public awareness of protecting people's rights against fraudulent tricks from manufacturers, traders of goods and service providers.
Since 2012, the city’s Consumers Protection Association and functional units have received and resolved nearly 500 complaints related to the quantity and quality of goods, and warranty regime.
