Technology partly contributes to narrowing the gap between employers and job seekers. Even, many online job trading floors play an important role in connecting remote job opportunities, and giving workers the opportunity to consider and choose jobs suitable for their personal needs and interests.

No shortage of jobs
The global financial and economic crisis has had a significant impact on labour market. Recent surveys conducted at job fairs in the city have showed that the number of labourers who find suitable jobs is quite small, even though enterprises across Da Nang are offering thousands of job opportunities.
For example, at a job fair organised in early 2023 by the Employment Service Center under the city's Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, 82 participating businesses offered a combined total of 5,000 job opportunities but only 50 job positions were recruited.
The current labour market prioritises recruiting workers in the garment, seafood, trade, service, construction, technology and marketing industries. To attract candidates, many businesses offer starting salaries ranging from VND6 - 10 million, and other incentives.
In an effort to recruit 1,000 unskilled workers, the city-based Thuan Phuoc Seafood and Trading JSC offers a policy of diligent support, childcare, gasoline, house rent fees, meals, holiday and Tet bonuses, picnic trips, and monthly leave policy. However, since the beginning of the year, they have yet to recruit enough workers. In order to keep up with the order progress, the company has to seek sources of idle workers in Quang Nam Province.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi H.M, 42, hailing from Que Phu Commune, Que Son District, Quang Nam Province, said that she participated in the job fair on March 3 but could not find a suitable job.
According to Mrs. H.M, since late last year, the company has run out of orders, so she and other workers have been placed on paid leave, receiving 70% of their monthly salaries. During this time, she has actively got involved in job fairs to look for new opportunities.
“There are also some job opportunities suitable for my capacity and forte, but the starting monthly salary of only VND6-6.5 million makes me wonder because my old monthly salary was VND8-9 million” she added.
According to some experts in the field of human resources recruitment, 2023 is the year for versatile candidates. Many businesses tend to hire workers who can hold many different positions in the company. With these candidates, enterprises are ready to offer attractive remuneration policies and salaries.
Mr. Ta Quoc Khanh, General Director of JOBKEY JSC cum the owner of the recruitment page www.vieclamdanang.vn) stressed the need for job seekers to carefully study the job description, salaries and benefits in the respective companies. In addition, they are advised to search for recruitment information on official job exchange floors with specific addresses to avoid being scammed of service fees.
Job trading floors prove effective
Providing a group of effective recruitment solutions for businesses, the job trading floor at www.vieclamdanang.vn receives and screens candidate profiles for more than 1,000 businesses with nearly 6,000 jobs across the country.
According to experts, the recruitment demand in Da Nang in early 2023 focuses on a number of main industries such as construction, trade and service.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 43% of profiles are from college and university degree holders. This is also the basis to help businesses find versatile candidates to meet the job requirements in the digital transformation trend.
In addition, in the face of increasing recruitment demand, every month, the Da Nang Employment Service Center maintains 4 regular job fairs on Au Co, Truong Chinh and Phan Chau Trinh streets, and a point in Cam Le District’s Khue Trung Ward.
Also, the center strengthens connections and sends recruitment information to residential groups in the districts of Thanh Khe, Cam Le, Son Tra, and Lien Chieu.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Diep, Deputy Director of the city’s Employment Service Center, said that in 2023, the center plans to organise 48 job fairs to connect businesses with local human resources.
It can be said that job opportunities are more open because many online job floors such as Danangjob.vn, vieclamdanang.vn, vieclamdanang.edu.vn, zieclam.com, danang43.vn, and topcv.vn have provided smart job search and recruitment solutions.
These floors tend to use AI to collect data, screen profiles, and evaluate candidates, especially with high-quality human resources.
Mr. Tran Trung Hieu, founder and CEO of the TopCV Vietnam JSC (topcv.vn) highlighted the vital role of technology in contributing to shortening the gap between employers and job seekers. Even, many online job trading floors like topcv.vn have connected remote job opportunities, and giving workers the opportunity to consider and choose job suitable for their personal needs and interests.
On the other hand, the diverse workload on online job trading floor has changed job seekers’ attitude in approaching new jobs. Many job seekers say that salary and bonus are no longer their top concern, but the most importance is a professional and humane working environment where they can find personal development goals.
