The Da Nang Party Committee's Publicity and Education Department has recently donated a bookcase and gifts to poor patients at the municipal Oncology Department of the Da Nang Hospital.

In his remarks at the donation ceremony, Standing Deputy Head of the municipal Party Committee's Publicity and Education Department Doan Xuan Hieu said that the donation of the bookcase aimed to help cancer patients relax and be more optimistic during their medical treatment process at the hospital, as well as help their relatives have more knowledge in disease prevention, treatment, nutrition and spiritual care.

The bookcase has about 500 copies of books providing scientific and nutrition knowledge for cancer patients, along with cultural and entertainment books.

In the coming time, the Publicity and Education Department will expand the model of kindness bookcases to other departments in the Da Nang Hospital and other public hospitals citywide.

To mark this occasion, the Publicity and Education Department have worked with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions to give 20 gifts, each worth VND1 million, to poor patients at the Oncology Department of the Da Nang Hospital.
