Da Nang launches Youth Month 2024
The Da Nang Youth Union launched the Youth Month 2024 themed ‘Youth Volunteers for Community Life’ on Saturday to mark the 93rd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

During the month, the municipal Youth Union sets targets of 100% of Youth Union officials and members, and 80% of young people, thoroughly grasping the Party's policies and guidelines, and State policies and laws; each affiliated Youth Union units organising at least five volunteer activities for the community; planting 25,000 trees; admitting 2,000 new Youth Union members; supporting 1,000 disadvantaged children; responding to the campaign of "Proud of a stretch of mountains and rivers"; and handing out 500 Vietnamese maps to localities and units.
To effectively implement activities, the municipal Youth Union has established 6 youth volunteer teams including a legal policy publicity team, a team joining hands to build new-style rural areas and civilised cities; a digital transformation guidance team; a social welfare team; a volunteer team for community health; and an environmental protection and climate change response team.

At the launching ceremony, the Youth Union donated 5 youth projects on two play areas for children; two children's book libraries; 1,000 trees for young people to develop green economic models; a charity house in Quang Nam Province; and a lighting project in Ta Lang Village, Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District.
On the occasion, the municipal Youth Union honoured 18 collectives for their outstanding achievements in the "Winter Volunteer" programme in 2023 and "Spring Volunteer" in 2024. At the same time, the organisation planted 80 trees in response to the "Tree Planting Festival" campaign at the Da Nang Children's Palace.
