Da Nang launches campaign against crimes related to weapons, explosives and supporting tools
The Da Nang Department of Public Security held a ceremony on Thursday to launch a campaign to raise public awareness and encourage them to fight fiercely against crimes and violations related to weapons, explosives and supporting tools.

In his remarks at the launching ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that government departments and agencies, unions, units and localities, including the core police force, have proactively taken drastic, synchronous and effective measures to manage, prevent, and fight against crimes and violations related to weapons, explosives and supporting tools in recent years, thereby contributing to controlling and maintaining political security and ensuring social order and safety in the city.
He took the opportunity to ask relevant units to make more efforts to uphold the spirit of responsibility, concentration, and determination in leadership, direction and coordination to handle all types of crimes and violations in the abovementioned field.
He said it was necessary to amend and supplement the legal definition of weapons, explosives and support tools to address legal loopholes having potential risk for security.
Chairman Chinh urged cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers, and people to coordinate and exchange information with local police force on organisations and individuals that show signs of committing crimes or violating the law related to weapons, explosives, and supporting tools.

According to a report released by the municipal Department of Public Security, since early 2024, 48 cases with 188 people involving violations of the legal regulations on weapons, explosives, supporting tools have been detected and arrested. Among them, 7 cases with 64 offenders have been prosecuted. Two cases with two offenders have been imposed administrative fines. 39 cases with 122 offenders have been investigated and verified.
Moreover, 235 propaganda sessions have been provided for 14,957 participants. 6 military guns, 2 sports guns, 26 homemade guns, 463 military bullets, 152 other bullets, 11 grenades and mines, 95 supporting tools, 364 rudimentary weapons, and 6 assembly accessories and supporting tools have been recovered.
Also, temporarily confiscated evidence of 1 military weapon, 10 homemade guns, 10 military bullets, 1 sports gun, 305 other bullets, 10 supporting tools, 82 rudimentary weapons, and 9 components have been temporarily seized.
