"Godmother" programme proves effective
The Da Nang Women's Union launched its 3rd edition of the "Godmother - Continue to pursue your dreams with me" programme on Thursday to welcome the new school year 2024-2025 and encourage orphans in the city overcome difficulties for a better life.

The programme featured many meaningful activities, such as reviewing the results of the programme over the past three years, meeting with groups and individuals who have actively got involved in supporting orphans, and receiving sponsorship from municipal departments and branches.
In particular, the programme introduced songs composed by local musicians about the image of women and mothers - as a tribute to the "Godmothers" who have devoted their hearts to caring for, helping, guiding, and bringing joy and hope to orphans on the path to adulthood.
On the occasion, the municipal Women's Union gave 100 sets of ‘Ao Dai’ and gifts to 100 orphaned female pupils who have overcome difficulties to gain good academic results in the 2023-2024 school year.
After 3 years of implementing the aforementioned programme, the municipal Women's Union and its chapters at all levels mobilised internal resources from female cadres and members, while connecting with units, organisations and generous individuals to support more than 770 orphans citywide.
In addition to material and spiritual support, the unions at all levels focused on connecting, guiding knowledge and skills to care for orphans appropriate to their age, as well as providing health care and psychological advice, career guidance, thereby facilitating them to develop comprehensively and have a better life.
