To ensure blood reserves for medical treatment at hospitals and to share with patients in need of blood, the silent volunteers of the "Understanding and Loving" Club under the Red Cross Society of Ngu Hanh Son District have devoted themselves to the humanitarian act of blood donation. For many years, they have donated blood and platelets many times to save the lives of hundreds of patients.

On November 1 morning, the members of the Club presented at the Department of Hematology - Blood Transfusion at the Da Nang Hospital to carry out their noble act.

At 7:00 am, dozens of volunteers gathered to fill out the blood donation registration forms. This time, the club members donated blood types O and A as requested by the hospital to supplement blood reserves.

After much persuasion, Ms. Thai Thi Kim Hau, a resident of Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, agreed to share information, because according to her, donating blood to save lives is not a big deal, many can do it, as long as there is sympathy and sharing in the heart.

“Many patients need blood, especially in emergency cases due to traffic accidents. Among them, there are many cases that cannot wait long. With that in mind, I have participated in donating blood for many years” Ms. Kim Hau confided. Accordingly, she has donated blood dozens of times after receiving information from the club.

Although work and family life take up a lot of time, she has never refused. On the contrary, she feels happy and has motivation to continue living better.

“Donating blood is not only giving but also receiving a lot in return. I will continue to participate in blood donation if my health allows”. With a gentle smile, Ms. Kim Hue said before leaving to continue her work after blood donation.

For the medical staff of the Department of Hematology - Blood Transfusion in particular, and the Da Nang Hospital in general, the image of volunteers of the "Understanding and Loving" Club has become familiar since time immemorial. The Club's phone number is known by heart by the staff in charge of blood donation and is the first to call whenever blood is needed urgently.

Also participating in the blood donation this time was Mr. Nguyen Tri Thien, residing in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, who has also donated blood many times. He considers the blood donation a fate, something he will do until he can no longer.

Mr. Thien emotionally shared that in the past, his child was sick and needed platelets to treat illness. His child was supported by volunteers of the Club, but unfortunately the child passed away. Since then, he has enthusiastically participated in blood donation, ready to share his drops of blood with any needy patient.

“I, club members and other blood donors feel lucky to be able to donate our blood. The continuation of each life is the seed of happiness that multiplies and continues to spread,” Mr. Tri Thien shared. After more than 2 hours, the members of the Club donated 37 units of blood.

Every year, the members of the Club donate hundreds of units of blood and platelets, contributing to saving hundreds of lives. Each kindness and generosity of the club members in particular, and other blood donors in general, is silently contributing to the community, making the city become better.
