Wishes at the start of spring
Da Nang not only boasts modern infrastructure and supportive policies but also represents a unique connection between people and their living environment. The interplay of stunning nature and an open community, filled with passionate young individuals and experienced professionals, is what shapes Da Nang's distinct identity.
As the new year 2025 approaches, talented and passionate young people are sharing their hopes and aspirations for building a prosperous and sustainable city with Da Nang Weekend.
* Dr. Kieu Trinh Le Vi, Head of the Preclinical Cancer Research Team at Bergonié-Bordeaux Cancer Hospital (Bordeaux, France): Advocating for policies that encourage collaboration and advanced training in healthcare.
With the efforts of its leaders and residents, Da Nang is rapidly developing with great potential, making it a promising destination for investors. The city has implemented numerous educational improvement policies, such as waiving tuition fees from preschool through grade 12, upgrading infrastructure, supporting high-tech transitions, and launching foreign language enhancement programs. Additionally, Da Nang focuses on developing ecosystems and biotechnology, contributing to sustainable agriculture and demonstrating comprehensive attention not only in the biomedical field but also in biology and agriculture.
In the midst of comprehensive and impressive changes across various sectors, there is hope that the city will continue to focus on sustainable development, particularly in healthcare and the quality of life for its residents. As a cancer researcher with experience in Asia, Europe, and America, I hope Da Nang will implement policies that encourage the establishment of collaborative programs and provide advanced training for healthcare professionals, giving them more opportunities to engage with the international environment. Additionally, the city could enhance information dissemination and organize cancer screening programs through community projects at the ward and commune levels, making preventive healthcare services more accessible to the public. I am willing to support and share my experiences with local organizations in cancer research, particularly by fostering collaborations with the French government, possibly through talk shows and specialized training programs for doctors and researchers planning to study abroad in the field of cancer research.
* M.A. Chu My Giang, lecturer at the Faculty of Marketing, University of Economics (University of Danang), PhD candidate in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Liège (Liège, Belgium): From the academic community to the construction of a modern digital economy.
In the context of digital transformation, the rapid development of technology, big data, artificial intelligence, and digital tools is changing the way companies access to and interact with customers. Therefore, in my teaching process, I consistently integrate technology to inspire and enhance students' learning effectiveness while developing their skills. At the same time, I create opportunities for students to explore and experience prominent real-world projects, helping them build a solid foundation of essential knowledge and skills that will shape their future paths. My research not only focuses on traditional marketing strategies but also delves into the impact of technology on consumer behavior and modern business models. My goal is to impart knowledge to generations of students while emphasizing the importance of digital marketing in developing sustainable growth strategies.
As we approach 2025, I hope to build a strong academic community where generations of students can interact, learn, and contribute to the overall development of the marketing field and the economy. This community will include not only scholars but also entrepreneurs, managers, and practical marketing professionals, creating a robust network that supports the establishment of a modern digital economy. Furthermore, I aspire to train future leaders who can generate innovative initiatives and methods to promote the growth of the economic community in the city and across Vietnam as a whole.
* M.A. Ngo Le Huy Hien, a former student of Computer Science and Engineering at the Vietnam-UK Institute (University of Danang): Connecting talents in the field of digital technology.
Being recognized by the UK government as a global talent for the contributions in the field of digital technology is both an honor and a source of personal pride. This acknowledgment not only allows me to live and work in the UK but also enables me to establish and register a company here. I hope to play a small role in creating a network that connects experts, businesses, and emerging talents developed in the UK and Europe in the digital technology sector. As a reviewer for scientific journals and a mentor in the same field, as well as participating in international projects and programs, I believe that the youth of Vietnam, particularly those from Da Nang, can truly become global citizens, helping to promote the image of our vibrant city as a place of development, integration, and opportunity without borders.
As a new year arrives, marked by achievements, I hope to gain more opportunities for growing and making significant impacts on the international stage, continuing to affirm the position of Vietnamese people in the digital technology field. At the same time, I aim to contribute more to the community of young individuals pursuing careers in digital technology both in Vietnam and the UK. I aspire to inspire young people to take action in pursuing their ambitions, and building an image of a talented and resilient generation of Vietnamese youth who are constantly striving to conquer new horizons.
* Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Program Manager of the Swiss Entrepreneurship Program Vietnam (Switzerland) in Da Nang: Making an impact on the global creative startup map.
In the context of global integration and innovation, we must strive to become a center of creativity and innovation—an attraction for talent, international investment, and the creation of sustainable values. The city by Han River is increasingly drawing in startup communities and digital nomads—individuals who bring knowledge, skills, and global connections; enriching the community and propelling Da Nang to become a destination for talents, including young entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley and digital nomads from Bali who are ready to relocate to work while enjoying life.
Resolution 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly regarding the organization of urban governance and the pilot implementation of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city presents a unique opportunity for the city to promote innovation. Da Nang has been empowered through a sandbox mechanism for pioneering technology in the free trade zone, as well as in developing digital infrastructure and supporting strategic sectors. This will lay the groundwork for Da Nang to establish itself as a regional technology finance center, connecting international trade and attracting high-value projects. Da Nang needs to become a "hotspot" of connectivity, where government, businesses, universities, and startup communities collaborate to create value. With determination and a long-term vision, I believe that Da Nang can not only maintain its title as a "livable city" but also rise to become a symbol of connectivity and innovation in the region. The passionate, friendly, and ambitious people of Da Nang are the greatest driving force for the city to make its mark on the global innovation map.
* Lieutenant Ngo Thanh Dat, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lien Chieu District Police: The youth are the reliable reserve force of the Party in this era of advancement.
In 2025, the Party Congress at all levels for the term 2025-2030 will take place, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party, a pivotal congress aimed at elevating our country to new heights and progressing with the times. As a citizen of Da Nang, I hope that the city will successfully host this congress. I also wish for a smooth process of merging and streamlining the administrative apparatus in the city, always receiving support and consensus from the people, as well as strong agreement from the staff and civil servants. All of these factors will create new momentum for the city's development, further accelerating the completion of transportation infrastructure projects and key constructions, helping Da Nang to transform robustly and rightfully become the economic locomotive of the Central region and a leading smart city in Vietnam, reaching new peaks.
For myself, I hope to continue fulfilling the tasks assigned to me, clearly demonstrating the role of the youth in the police force in building a prosperous, peaceful, civilized, and modern Da Nang. I will continue to develop youth models and initiatives linked to the national digital transformation program, providing practical value that serves both security and public support. I aim to research and implement programs and activities that inspire the proactive, volunteer spirit and creativity of youth members, ensuring they remain a reliable reserve force for the Party in this era of national advancement.
