Japanese Film Festival 2018

Japanese Film Festival, one of the most anticipated annual events, is organised by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Viet Nam.  The event is widely known that its tickets are quickly ran out in few days, and warmly welcomed by many enthusiastic Japanese film lovers in Viet Nam.

As many as 9 interesting Japanese films which were made after 2015 will be screened during this year’s festival

All films will be shown in Vietnamese and English subtitles.

A display of 150 original antiquities and photos of Oc Eo Culture

Oc Eo is the name of an archaeological site in Thoai Son District in An Giang Province in the Mekong River Delta.  Based on the artifacts unearthed, archaeologists said that the area used to be a busy port of the kingdom of Phu Nam between the 1st and 7th centuries. They used the term ‘Oc Eo Culture’ to refer to the ancient material culture of the Mekong Delta region.

‘Charming Da Nang’ musical programme

This 60-minute programme opens with a stage presentation highlighting the city’s most impressive sites such as the Da Nang International Airport, the Han River and the tall buildings.  It is followed by delightful performances of singing, dancing and traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, each of them showcasing the culture and beauty of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.  Interestingly, there is a song named ‘Charming Da Nang’ which was written specifically for this programme.

The film tells the story of Tung Nhan (Quy Binh), who is a MC, is living happy with his beautiful lover. Suddenly, Tung Nhan discovered that his son "falls in the sky" - the result of love many years ago with his ex-lover.  Adopting a child means getting into a scandal, a career that can be ruined, but seeing a living being helpless, remembering your own orphaned body, Tung Nhan decides to raise the child. The close link between the father and son suddenly established ... His decision, however, results in the comedy to his lover, the baby and the people around him, creating a film story full of books. The film conveys a meaningful message, and highlights that in modern society, the family is not only the relationship of humility, but also the love, attachment between souls in sync with each other.
