Da Nang leader welcomes Senator and Politburo member of the French Communist Party

During his reception on Friday for Senator Jeremy Bacchi who is a member of the National Council of the French Communist Party (PCF), Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh informed on the city’s geographical location, and its socio-economic development orientation in the coming years.

Chairman Chinh added Da Nang has till date attracted 34 French-invested projects involving information technology and food with a total investment of US$25 million.

The city leader took the opportunity to ask for help from Senator Jérémy Bacchi to connect and introduce more French investors and businesses to seek investment opportunities in such fields as information technology, semiconductor, tourism, seaports, and education.

Mr. Chinh also voiced his hope that the French visitor will support cultural exchange activities between the people of the two countries, as well as promote cooperation between Da Nang and French museums.

For his part, Senator Jérémy Bacchi thanked the Da Nang leader for his respectful welcome and expressed his impression on the city’s modern infrastructure and dynamic growth.

He pledged to be willing to support and cooperate with Da Nang in the abovementioned spheres and provide scholarships for local students to study and work in France.

Senator Jérémy Bacchi hoped that his visit will open up many opportunities for fostering the bilateral cooperation between France and Viet Nam in general, and between French localities and Da Nang in particular in the years ahead.
