Mr Nguyen Huu Sia, Director General of Da Nang Port, recently announced that his agency has already developed a project for transporting container cargo between the Tien Sa and Lien Chieu ports by barge.

The aim of the project, which will cost around 100 billion VND, is to reduce traffic density on an entrance/exit road at the Tien Sa Port.  It is expected to be implemented by 2020.

Under the project, after container ships have docked at the Tien Sa Port, the cargo will be transferred to barges for onward transport to the Lien Chieu Port.  From there, they will be transported to northern localities by road.
