VEAM seeks new ideas for future business development
The 2016 Viet Nam Economist Annual Meeting (VEAM) took place at the Da Nang Univerisity of Economics (DUE) from 11-12 August. Economists, financial scholars and business executives worldwide attended.

The event was joinly organised by the DUE, the Development and Policies Research Centre, the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of Foreign Trade and the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam.
The intention was to seek new ideas and orientations for future business development.
Four major studies by famous economists such as Prof. Markus Brueckner from the Australian National University, Prof. Duc-Tho Nguyen from Griffith University, Prof. Makoto Tawada from Aichi Gakuin University and Prof. Wei Zhou from the Paris School of Business were presented at 4 plenary sessions.
The 2-day event also featured 25 thematic discussions on more than 95 reports by scholars from Viet Nam and 20 countries worldwide.
Prof. Le Van Cuong was due to make a speech on how to improve the quality of teaching economics at Vietnamese universities.
Also at the event, Prof. Nguyen Duc Khuong, Dean of Economics and Finance from the Paris School of Management, who was recently ranked 7th amongst 200 outstanding young economists globally by the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) project, shared his experience in finance and banking.
Vice Rector of the DUE Vo Thi Thuy Anh, said her university is striving to become a research-oriented university with an advanced learning environment, to contribute to local socio-economic challenges.
