A large number of visitors from both home and abroad arrived in Da Nang during the Tet Festival, according to local Tourism Department.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the city welcomed more than 260,000 tourists during Tet, up 17.3% against the same period in 2016. Of them, 103,000 were foreigners, up 30.6%.

The increase is attributed to the time of Tet as it falls on the tourism season of neighbouring markets like China, South Korea and Japan as well as overseas Vietnamese.

Some new international air routes, which have been launched during Tet, brought more international visitors to Da Nang.

Besides, favourable weather condition and various performance activities have helped draw even more visitors to the city.

Travel firms in Da Nang served a total of 38,000 visitors over Tet.
