Mr Pham Phuc, Deputy Director of the Management Board of the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, said that work on the road tunnel at the intersection of Dien Bien Phu and Nguyen Tri Phuong has restarted after Tet, and the tunnel is expected to be completed on 2 September, in time for it to be in full use during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week (AELW) in November.
Work on the 2nd stage of the road tunnel to take Tran Phu under its busy junction with Le Duan has also restarted, and the traffic management arrangements around the construction site seem to be working well.
Other infrastructure projects are underway in the city in time for the AELW, including the development of the International Exhibition Fair Centre into a 131,009m2 international media centre, and the upgrading of the Tien Son Sports Arena.
In Hai Chau District, a new cardiovascular centre at the Da Nang General Hospital is under construction. Covering an area of 11,828m2, the centre will feature a 37.55m-tall, 9-storey-plus-1-basement building providing 200 patient beds.
In late 2016, work started on the Athlete Training Centre in Cam Le District. The construction of the centre’s training houses and support items are underway.
Importance has also been attached to accelerating such projects as the extension to Nguyen Tat Thanh, the ring road on the southern side of the city, a road alongside a section of the railway between the city’s Hue T-junction and the Hoa Cam overpass, and infrastructure at the local Hi-tech Park.
