The number of visitors staying at local accommodation establishments during the holiday rose by 12.1% to 39,547.  The average room occupancy rates in local 4 to 5-star hotels were between 65% and 70%, and in 3-star hotels around 55%.

In particular, such local popular tourist attractions as the Marble Mountains, the Museum of Da Nang, the Son Tra Peninsula and local eco-tourism sites, were crowded with visitors.

Director of the Museum of Da Nang Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien said that his museum received a daily average of around 1,000 visitors during the holiday.  This was mainly attributed to various fascinating activities organised at the museum.  Included were the Da Thanh Antiques’ Fair and an exhibition entitled ‘Historical Objects of Vietnamese Police - Time Hallmark’.

In addition, the 2017 Da Nang Open Traditional Boat Race for the VTV8 Cup on the Han River last Saturday attracted hundreds of locals and visitors.  In addition, a number of people participated in tours to discover the beauty of the Son Tra Peninsula by motorcycles.

Mr Nguyen Duc Vu, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, said that the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Vong Canh Hills, the Ban Co (Chess Board) Peek, and the thousand-year-old banyan tree, hosted a large number of visitors during the 3-day break holiday, especially on 2 September.

Most notably, the Vu Lan Festival was held at the Am Phu (Hell) Cave at the Marble Mountains for the first time.  Thanks to this, this tourist site received a total of over 7,000 visitors from 2 - 3 September.

Furthermore, a large number of people visited the Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park, the Lai Thieu Eco-tourist site and the Hoa Phu Thanh entertainment area due to hot weather.
