Attending at the welcoming ceremony were representatives from the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the Qatar Airways, the municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, along with Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Dinh Thao, and Qatari Ambassador to Viet Nam Mohamed Ismail Al Emadi.
The four-times weekly flights are operated on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and they will be served with a Boeing B787 aircraft, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.
Da Nang is the third Vietnamese destination on the award-winning airline’s rapidly expanding global network after Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. This is also the only direct flight from Central Viet Nam to Qatar, and the Middle East region as a whole.
Mr Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, said Da Nang is emerging as an inviting destination in Viet Nam for international tourists. He also highlighted the significance of opening the new non-stop route in helping Da Nang connecting with 150 destinations in Qatar’ airline network, especially those from Europe and North America.
