Speeding up construction progress of medical projects

In these days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2019 which will begin on 5 February, the construction of key medical projects across Da Nang has been accelerating.

In particular, the rebuilding of the city’s Preventive Medicine Centre at 118 Le Dinh Ly in Thanh Khe District is underway.

Worked started on the rebuilding of the 117.7 billion VND Centre in April 2018. The project will consist of a basement, 5 floors and an attic, with a total floor area of over 5,800m2.

After over 8 months of construction, the building of 3 out of 5 floors has been already completed.

Currently, the construction of the 4th floor and the plastering of the walls of the 1st and 2nd floors are progressing well.

According to Mr Nguyen Huu Nhat, the Deputy Director of the city’s Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects, the project’s developer, more construction workers have been assigned to the construction site in order to ensure the on-scheduled progress.

In a similar vein, the construction of the fully-equipped Multi-functional Division of the Da Nang Rehabilitation Hospital, on the corner of Tran Van Tra, Tran Le and Ha Duy Phien streets in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward, is now being kept on track.

The 134.5 billion VND project is expected to be put into use by February.

The project's basic construction has to date already been completed. Construction workers are now busy painting interior walls and covering ceilings with plaster.

In addition, the building of underground water and wastewater treatment tanks, liquid waste treatment and garbage classification areas, a security guard station, a pumping station, a high-level disinfectant laundry area, a parking area for the vehicles of the staff and visitors, fences and gates, is now nearing completion. These works are scheduled to be completed in late January.

Mr Pham Van Tai, the Director of the Hospital, highlighted the significance of the construction of the Division in meeting the increasing demand of patients, especially the elderly and children.

“With 180 hospital beds, and a spacious and modern infrastructure system which meets Ministry of Health’s standards, the soon-to-be-opened project will make significant contributions to medical treatment activities for people from the city, and neighbouring localities”, Dr Tai added.

According to a spokesperson for the city’s Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects, other key medical projects are being implemented on schedule. Included are the Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, the renovation of wastewater treatment system at the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital, and the upgrade of the Mental Health Hospital.

This year, works are expected to be started on some medical projects in the city.

Included are the 2nd stage of the upgrade of the Hai Chau General Hospital, the rebuilding of the Traditional Medicine Hospital, the construction of headquarters for preventive medicine stations, and the 1st stage of the building of the Cam Le District Medical Station.
