Thanks to the favourable weather conditions, Da Nang has welcomed a large number of visitors from both home and abroad over the Tet holiday.

Some of the city's popular attractions have been crowded with locals and visitors.

In particular, the Bach Dang Spring Flower Street receives a daily average of thousands of visitors who want to record memorable moments with their family members and friends.

On 5 February (the 1st day of the 1st lunar month), a total of over 6,500 visitors arrived at the Marble Mountains Tourist Area in Ngu Hanh Son District, and over 3,700 of them were foreigners.

This inviting site is likely to have received about 40,500 tourists during the Tet holiday, up nearly 10% compared with the same period last year. Around 27,000 of them will be foreigners whilst the remaining 13,500 will be domestic visitors.

Meanwhile, the Ba Na Hills Resort is expected to welcome about 88,000 visitors during this special holiday, the Sunworld DaNang Wonder amusement park around 12,000, the Son Tra Peninsula and the Linh Ung Pagoda nearly 38,000, the Museum of Cham Sculpture about 8,500, the Museum of Da Nang 5,000 visitors, and the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park 5,000.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, said that the city is predicted to have received an estimated 332,465 visitors over the 9-day Tet holiday break, a rise of 11.9% against the same period last year. 62,629 of them are foreigners, up 23.1%, whilst the remainder 169,836 are domestic visitors, up 5%.

He added the increase in the number of visitors to the city during the holiday was mainly attributed to the timing of Tet as it falls in the tourism season of such neighbouring markets as China, South Korea, and Japan, as well as for overseas Vietnamese.

Another reason for the hike in the number of visitors to the city is the opening of new direct flights connecting Da Nang with Incheon, Busan, and Daegu all in South Korea, Japan’s Osaka, Thailand’s Bangkok, and Qatar's Doha.

Besides, on 31 January, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines launched a new domestic route connecting Da Nang and Can Tho with a frequency of 7 flights per week. This helps to bring even more tourists from southern provinces to the seaside city.
