The Da Nang Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects is now appealing for domestic and foreign investors to propose their own plans for the construction of a domestic solid waste treatment plant in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.

In detail, domestic and foreign organisations and individuals boasting economic, financial, technical, technological capacities are encouraged to invest in the project.

The entries are required to meet the municipal administration-approved criteria in terms of technology, environment, economy and society.

Based on the public-private partnership (PPP) form, the project is expected to have the daily treatment capacity of 1,000 tonnes, and this figure is likely to increase if needed.

The project will operate for no more than 25 years since the date of signing the contract.

Entries are required to be submitted no later than 5.30pm, 9 November.

The city has set a target of collecting 95% of solid waste for treatment over the 2019 – 2025 period, with 12% and 15% to be recycled and reused in 2020 and 2025 respectively.

By 2025, all of the city’s wards and communes will have implemented the sorting of domestic solid waste at families, and 100% of industrial parks and production establishments, service providers, and government agencies and organisations will have classified waste at the source.

The city expects to expand the waste classification at source initiative across the city by 2022. In the 2021-2022 period, solid waste in the city will be classified into 4 categories: recyclable waste, such as paper, plastic and metal; toxic waste, such as batteries and light bulbs; construction waste; and other types of waste.
