Food and energy price falls drive down Da Nang's CPI in April
The latest figures released from the Da Nang General Statistics Office show that Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in April went down by 0.32% against March, and a rise of 3.53% when compared with the same period last year.
Lower prices for food, cartering service, gas cooking and electricity made the biggest contribution to the fall.
The prices of 6 out of the 11 groups in the CPI calculations rose significantly compared to March. The highest increase was 0.69% for transport services. It was followed by clothing, footwear and hats at 0.42%, housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials 0.22%, household appliances 0.14%, education 0.03%.
As for the remainin 5 groups, the cost of food and catering services dropped dramatically, the price of cooking gas went down by 4.5% whilst a decline of 1.96% and 4.05% was recorded in the electricty and jewelry respectively.
In total, average CPI in the first four months of 2021 was 1.68% higher when compared with the same period last year, and it is at the lowest level compared to previous years.
