COVID-19 vaccination proposed for logistics workers

The Viet Nam Logistics Businesses’ Association has proposed in writing to the Da Nang People's Committee to pay attention and give priority to vaccination against COVID-19 for the workforce in the local logistics service industry.

According to the representative office of the Association in Da Nang, there are currently about 100 enterprises operating in the city’s logistics transportation industry.

Till date, the drivers of the essential goods carrying vehicles have accessed COVID-19 vaccine shots whereas logistics employees have yet to be vaccinated against the virus.

The labour force of the logistics industry works mainly at seaports, airports, and warehouses, being directly involved in freight transport activities, the handling of customs and delivery procedures and related documents.

The vaccination against the virus for the workforce in this industry is expected to contributes to ensuring the circulation and transportation of goods and materials for production, hereby avoiding disrupting of the production chain of enterprises, especially industrial ones amid the complicated developments of the ongoing COVID-19 waves.
