Following fresh approval from the Da Nang administration, up to now, all 8 slaughterhouses across the city have come back to operation after months-long suspension for the sake of COVID-19 containment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed.

All of the above-mentioned slaughterhouses, on Thursday, processed a combined total of 31 cows, 758 pigs and 2,290 poultry animals with a total of more than 56 tonnes of meat, thus meeting the current growing consumer demand.

Particularly, the slaughterhouse owned by the Hoa Tho Tay Cooperative that also reopened on Thursday with the processing of 41 pigs and 255 poultry animals helps to meet more public needs.

At the request of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural, the Sub-Division of Livestock Production and Animal Health must be in charge of closely coordinating with other relevant local agencies to carry out prevention measures against COVID-19 at slaughterhouses.
