Continue to stabilise distribution channels
In order to maximize the effectiveness of the supply-demand connection, food suppliers are trying to stabilise distribution channels to bring sufficient goods to consumers.
Currently, all markets, supermarkets and commercial centers across the city are allowed to operate at 100% capacity, except for Hoa Cuong wholesale market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam.
Retail units have always maintained the strict compliance with safety measures against COVID-19 such as both market stall holders and shoppers wearing masks and anti-droplet face shields to avoid direct contact with each other.
As recorded in markets, although the number of visitors has been not high as compared to the pre-pandemic time despite abundant supply and reasonable prices, small traders are gradually reopening their trading activities and adapting to the new situation.
Trader Vo Thi Xuyen touting for business at the An Hai Dong Market, Son Tra District said that the trading ambiance here is not as vibrant as in the previous days. However, traders have still encouraged one another to maintaining the operation of their stalls with a hope of tempting back shoppers in the coming time.
Meanwhile, commercial centres, supermarkets and convenience stores have ensured a full supply of food items, especially essential products at reasonable prices to serve the consumer market. Besides, many customers are seen visiting online distribution channels for shopping.
As for pork products, in recent times, small-scale pig farmers have been stuck in a struggling circumstance because the price of pigs has been low for many months, while African swine fever has re-emerged in some localities and high feed price is putting more financial pressure on livestock producers.
Mr. Doan Quang Thuyen, Director of Hai Thuyen Trading and Service Co., Ltd. said that the company supplies 120 - 130 pigs to the local market every day with an average price per kg of VND75,000 - 80,000.
The unit is now the main supplier of pork products for large supermarkets in the city such as Co.opmart Da Nang, Lotte Mart and Vinmart.
