COVID-19 testing is only applied to passengers who show one of the symptoms as fever, cough, fatigue, sore throat, loss of taste and smell and shortness of breath whilst participating in transport activities nationwide, except for railway and airway.

All passengers must strictly comply with the 5K rules, make medical declarations and strictly implement safety measures against COVID-19 under the guidance of the National Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the Ministry of Health.

The aforementioned requirements were part of new regulations released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport (MoT) on the resumption of the commonly- used transport modes of road, inland waterway, coastal and sea shipping with flexible adaptation to COVID-19 in the new situation.

As for all pandemic risk levels, COVID-19 testing is only required for those who display suspicious cases suspected or come from high-risk areas (level 3), very high-risk areas (level 4) or medical isolation locations (blockaded ones), and cases being subject to mandatory epidemiological investigations.

No testing is required while traveling within these areas.

With regard to passengers who have fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and recovered from this highly contagious disease, COVID-19 testing is applied to those being subject to mandatory epidemiological investigations and coming from very high-risk areas (level 4) or medical isolation locations.

Testing for SARS-CoV-2 can be carried out by RT-PCR tests or rapid antigen ones with the validity within 72 hours.
