The Da Nang People's Committee has given the green light to the establishment of centres at municipal and ward/ commune levels to supervise those onboard essential goods transporting vehicles enjoying the ‘green travelling into and out of the city from October 10.

The move aims to strengthen the management of people and means of transporting goods with ‘green lane’ status coming into and out of Da Nang, in a bid to keep the city out of the virus amid the fact that it has seen no community transmission cases over recent consecutive days.

‘Green lane’ vehicles always receive QR codes, allowing them to be prioritised to pass through COVID-19 prevention checkpoints without lengthy waits. This priority aims to facilitate the smooth circulation of necessities throughout the nation in light of COVID-19.

Under the plans, the municipal management centre will consist of police forces and representatives of municipal departments of Transport, Health, Industry and Trade, Information and Communication, and Justice, the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, and district-level People's Committees.

At the grassroots level, centres will be established in wards and communes. Also, as per request of the municipal administration, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Authority of the Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, the Authority of the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and the Da Nang Port will set up their own management teams to carry out the reception of information from the municipal management centre, and coordinate with functional forces to supervise and handle any violators onboard ‘green lane’ vehicles in all wards and communes.
