In the development of a new industrial park, Secretary Quang suggested that the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and IZs (DHPIZA) need to choose qualified contractors, and at the same time, take the initiative to appeal for more investment flows from large corporations into IZs as well as effectively use the land fund here.

“We need to resolutely handle slow-moving projects in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and IZs and immediately withdraw the previously-allocated land at projects whose construction have delayed over the past time which is very wasteful”, emphasized Secretary Quang.

The city’s Party chief also asked DHPIZA and other relevant local agencies to support enterprises based in IZs in terms of COVID-19 prevention and control, along with ensuring security and order here.

Also at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet suggested that the Party Committee of the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and IZs should further promote their advisory role on policies related to investment attraction and new policies in a bid to create even more breakthroughs for the city.

Along with that, it is necessary to pay more attention to the rights of employees, promote the implementation of the collective labor agreements, improve the quality of mid-shift meals, and keep workers' health as well as industrial manners.

With regard to measures to rise the occupancy rate in IZs, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son said that, in the coming time, the municipal administration will continue to promote investment promotion, in which focus will be on national-level investment promotion schemes as well as on-the-spot investment promotion for existing enterprises that need to expand their production and business in local IZs.

As reported by Head of the DHPIZA Pham Truong Son, the production and business situation of most enterprises inside and outside the IZs has basically stabilised. Many enterprises have achieved good growth targets, some enterprises have increased in excess of the same period of previous years.

In 2021, the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and IZs attracted a combined total of 24 projects, namely 5 FDI projects with total registered capital of over US$145 million, 19 domestic ones totalling VND 786.9 billion.

Particularly, in the first quarter of 2022, new investment registration certificates were issued for 9 projects, namely 2 FDI projects worth US$5.04 million, 7 domestic ones totalling over VND1,198 billion.

Also at the meeting, the DHPIZA suggested the city have a policy to reduce land rents for businesses in 2022 and 2023.

For the time being, the municipal administration is implementing a policy to reduce 50% of the infrastructure usage fees for firms operating in the Hi-tech Park and IZs financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
