In his conclusion at a Friday meeting to review the preparatory work for the Routes Asia 2022, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son affirmed that the upcoming event was a good opportunity for Da Nang to promote its images in the eyes of international friends, so the preparations need to be completed quickly.

Vice Chairman Son urged the People's Committee Office to coordinate with the municipal Department of Tourism and the city’s Investment Promotion and Support Board to make detailed reports about each event soon to ensure the efficiency of their cooperation.

Meanwhile, the municipal Department of Transport was asked to work closely with the Department of Tourism to ensure the smooth and safe travel of delegates during the event.

Mr. Son also directed the Investment Promotion and Support Board to coordinate with the Authority of Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks to prepare all necessary documents to provide information about the city’s investment potential and opportunities to participating delegates and businesses.

According to information released at the meeting, the Informa Routes Company, one of the event’s organisers, will host three main activities. They will be an Asian tourism and aviation exhibition, a direct business connection programme with over 500 meetings between partners on the system of the Asia route development forum, and seminars.

As of May 26, 450 delegates from 190 organisations, including 81 airlines, 79 airports, 11 destinations and 19 aviation service providers, had registered to join Routes Asia 2022. 75-80% of which came from Asia, whilst the rest were from the Americas, Europe and Middle East countries.

With regard to the Asian tourism and aviation exhibition, till date, the Informa Routes Company has updated the map of 43 pavilions with an area of 5m x 5m each. Particularly, the 7m x 7m Da Nang Pavilion will be set up in the middle position.

It is expected that there will be more than 1,000 meetings between airlines, airports and tourism authorities from across the Asia Pacific region using On-site Meeting System or through the Routes event app. Each participating unit has a maximum of 12 meetings with its partners that have been scheduled on the system of Routes Asia Forum.

Specially, Da Nang will have 19 meetings that have been booked in advance on the system and will take place at the B2B connection space. The city leaders will have private meetings and working sessions with 3-4 major investors at the municipal Administrative Centre.

Between June 6 and 8, the Informa Routes company will organise 8 conferences, seminars and talks on tourism and service topics.

Up to now, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has well prepared communication activities for the forthcoming event.

Particularly, on June 1, decorations will be made at the welcome gate and some areas in front of the Da Nang Exhibition Fair Centre.

The municipal Department of Tourism is coordinating with the PR Newswire - a global media unit - to advertise the upcoming event on nearly 100 websites in countries worldwide from June 6 to 8.

In addition, the Department is preparing for a famtrip for about 50 high-ranking representatives from international airlines to conduct their survey activities into the city’s aviation and tourism infrastructure facilities, as well as developing tours for about international invited guests.

Other departments and agencies are busy preparing for cultural and arts events, the display of OCOP (One Commune- One Product) products, and investment connection and promotion programmes, as well as ensuring social security and order, food safety and hygiene, and environmental sanitation.
