The Sa Pa Cultural Tourism Festival is taking place at a park near the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge on Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District, Da Nang.

Organised by the Centre for Tourism Information and Promotion of Lao Cai Province, the ongoing festival features a wide range of activities to introduce the traditional culture of the Sa Pa ethnic groups in the northern province of Lao Cai such as displaying regulations production process of traditional handicraft products such as brocade embroidery, beeswax painting and spinning.

Also, visitors are treated with cultural performances, experience enjoying typical dishes of Lao Cai such as Thang Co of the Mong people, ‘banh day’, seven-colour sticky rice of the Giay people, and experiential activities for visitors such as herbal foot bath of the Red Dao, wearing traditional ethnic costumes, taking photos amidst scenic landscapes and famous tourist attractions of Sa Pa, experiencing folk games and learning about the indigenous culture of the ethnic groups, scenic spots in Sa Pa.

In addition, the festival displays 40 photos under the theme ‘Lao Cai Flavours’, publications and materials promoting the unique destination of the Sa Pa National Tourist Area and such highly popular tourist attractions such as Lao Cai City, Bac Ha and Y Ty - Bat Xat with unique traditional art progrmes.

The festival aims to promote tourism in Lao Cai Province, create opportunities for travel businesses, hotels to meet and connect to exploit tourism products Sa Pa - Da Nang, and the Central - Northwest region of Viet Nam as a whole.
