According to the department’s report, Da Nang has 1,230 fishing boasts with a total capacity of 401,360CV. The city's total seafood output reaches 36,500-37,500 tonnes per year, accounting for 60-65% of the agro-forestry-aquatic output.
100% of fishing vessel data of the city's fishermen has been updated into the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase).
Currently, the city has 94 production solidarity groups at sea with 680 ships involved. Joining the groups helps fishermen boldly carry out offshore fishing activities, improve economic efficiency, update security situation at sea and implement rescue mission in a timely manner.
In the coming time, the local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will focus on effectively implementing mechanisms and policies to support fisheries development, managing and granting fishing licenses to fishing vessels according to quotas, and stepping up inspection and examination of the exploitation and protection of fishery resources.
Special attention will be paid to expanding models of production solidarity groups at sea, and developing a model of a logistics fleet to capture aquatic resources associated with the seafood value chain and product consumption.
