Increasing number of Tet flowers

With less than one month left to the Tet Festival 2023, gardeners across the city and other neighboring provinces and cities are busy taking care of flowers and ornamental plants in order to ensure that their flower crops will reach full bloom exactly during the forthcoming festival.

As noted, most gardeners in Hoa Vang District have nearly doubled the number of flowers compared to last year.

Farmers in the Duong Son flower growing area based in Hoa Chau Commune, have signed consumption contracts with traders, promising a successful Tet flower business.

Currently, the city’s Green Trees-Park Company has completed the plan to organise Tet flower markets 2023.

Director of the Green Trees-Park Company cum Head of the Management Board of Tet Flower Market at the March 29 Square Street Nguyen Thi Quynh Diem said that since December 8, 2022 (the 15th day of the 11th lunar month), the company has worked with the municipal Property Auction Service Center to agree on auction regulations, instructions on auction registration procedures, and auction registration forms.

Accordingly, this year’s starting price of the auction is generally equal to last year’s and is 10% lower than that in the Lunar New Year of the Ox 2021.

164 out of the 386 stalls at the March 29 Square will be put up for lease by public auction. The starting price for the auction will be VND4million/stall. The first auction will be held from December 10 to before 5:00 pm on December 30 (the 17th day of the 11th lunar month to the 8th day of the 12th lunar month).

If there are flower clusters that do not have registered customers or have registered customers who are not eligible to hold an auction or the customer wins the auction without paying rent and receiving the premises by the time specified above, the second auction will be organised at 10:00 am on January 4, 2023 (13th day of the 12th lunar month).

The Tet Flower Markets 2023 are slated to take place at Da Nang’s March 29 Square opposite the September 2 Peace Monument in Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District, and vacant land lots opposite the Lien Chieu District Administrative Centre and the Hoa Vang District Administrative Centre, from January 12 - 21, 2023 (21st to 30th days of the 12th lunar month).

Increasing value of agricultural production

According to the management board, the rental fees for flower stalls will range from VND2.8 million - over VND4 million per about 40m2 stall, depending on their chosen positions.

In particular, 164 stalls located in beautiful locations at the March 29 Square will be auctioned at the starting price of VND4 million/stall.

Meanwhile, 165 A-grade stalls with the frontage facing the March 29 Square, and expanding to the east and two sides of the façade of the Peace Monument will be auctioned at the starting price of VND 4 million/stall.

57 B-grade stalls at the March 29 Square will be priced at VND2.8 million/stall. There are not C-grade stalls.

The city’s Green Trees-Park Company will be responsible for coordinating with relevant agencies to organize the flower markets, and manage the market’s financial situation in accordance with the city’s regulations, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Diem added.

Top priority will be given to organising the flower market in a transparent manner, ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation and urban beauty during the market, and taking responsibility for revenue and expenditure in accordance with the city’s regulations.

Hoa Cuong Bac Ward authorities and functional forces are directed to promptly handle the situation of households encroaching on sidewalks on September 2 Street and roads surrounding the Tet flower market to display and sell flowers and ornamental plants, affecting order, traffic safety and urban beauty.

The Hoa Cuong Bac Ward authorities are not allowed to provide premises in front of the wedding restaurants in the north of the 2 September Peace Monument for lease to sell handicrafts, aimed at ensuring social order and urban beauty in the days before Tet.

In Lien Chieu District, this year’s Tet Flower Market will be held at the frontage of Nguyen Sinh Sac Street and a section of the Northwestern Axis 1 on Hoang Thi Loan Street, next to the district’s Administrative Center from January 12 - 21, 2023.

Likewise, another large flower market will be opened at the Hoa Vang District Administrative Centre from January 13 - 21, 2023.

The market will be part of the Vietnamese Tet Festival 2023 slated for January 13 - 15, 2023. The purpose of the festival is to facilitate locals and visitors to experience spring-friendly activities, understand more about the meaning of Tet rituals, and promote the image of Hoa Vang District to visitors from both home and abroad.
