Growing demand for warm clothes due to cold weather
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in Da Nang will turn cold from now until the New Year. The low temperature makes people's shopping demand for warm keeping items go up, and this fact has boosted consumption of these must-have items.

As recorded, fashion clothing stores on Le Duan, Phan Chau Trinh, Nguyen Van Linh, Phan Thanh and some supermarkets, commercial centers have witnessed a growing number of shoppers who want to make the purchase of warm clothes, autumn and winter sweaters gloves, scarves, socks and other items.
In a bid to meet the needs of customers, local fashion store owners have imported more cold-resistant products offered at different prices so that consumers have more choices.
At some stores selling imported winter fashion products, despite the high price, there were still many shoppers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, the owner of a clothing store on Nguyen Canh Chan Street, Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that the number of visitors to buy winter clothes has doubled to three times. On average, the store sells 200-500 products per day, especially life jackets and windbreakers, wool hats and socks. The store is constantly updating and adding new sources of goods to serve consumers.
At the Con Market, one of the largest of its kind in Da Nang, the shopping atmosphere is more vibrant than a week ago. The winter fashion clothing stalls are crowded with retail and wholesale customers who are traders in the suburban markets coming to buy goods.
According to the survey, the selling price of winter clothing products is divided into many segments to serve diverse needs of customers. Specifically, thin coats with textures and colours for women with prices ranging from VND 200,000 to VND 300,000/ piece whist models of sweatpants and tights are also very attractive with the price of VND 70,000 – VND 150,000/ piece, depending on the type;
Meanwhile, fashion clothing products bearing prestigious brands such as NEM, Canifa, Ivy Moda are aimed at high-income consumers, so the selling price is doubled compared to normal ones.
Along with the bustle of the fashion market, shops serving blankets, sheets, pillows and cushions also witness an increased purchasing power.
Many stores trading in these products have seen a hike in number of shoppers. Attractive promotion schemes, especially attractive discounts, have stirred up a rise in the purchasing power for these items.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, the owner of a bedding shop on Ton Duc Thang Street, Hoa An ward, Cam Le District said that the number of visitors these days to buy blankets and cushions increased sharply as compared to the previous months.
In a similar move, the electronics market also attracts many shoppers thanks to promotions and incentives. Mr. Nguyen Le Tuan Tuong, Head of MediaMart Electronic Supermarket Center on Ton Duc Thang Street, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that along with traditional products are 2-way air conditioners and hot water heaters, the types of heaters, fan heaters, heating lamps are also of great interest to customers.
With safety and convenience, this device is suitable for all family members, especially families with elderly people and children in cold weather.
It is known that customer numbers this year increased by 20-30% compared to this time last year. Products such as hot water baths, after applying year-end promotions, only have prices ranging from VND 1.5 milliom- VND 4 million/piece whilst heaters cost VND 399,000 to more than VND 2 million/piece.
