The Tigerair Taiwan-operated flight, carrying a total of 170 passengers from Taipei, landed at Da Nang International Airport on Saturday evening, making the carrier’s first flight in Viet Nam.

The Taipei - Da Nang air route is operated with a frequency of 2 flights per week.

Specifically, the flight IT551 departs from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 4:40pm (local time) on Wednesdays and Saturdays, whilst flight IT552 takes off from Da Nang International Airport at 7:40pm (local time) on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Present on the first flight to Da Nang, Ms. Chen Ting Chienh expressed that she knew Da Nang through promotion programmes on TV and social media channels. During her stay in Da Nang, she wanted to visit some of the city’s famous destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area.

According to Mr. Chen Han Ming, President of the Tigerair Taiwan low-cost carrier, Da Nang is a young city in Viet Nam that is very popular with Taiwanese people, especially KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders). In addition, young Taiwanese people love Da Nang and its neighboring localities such as Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City and Thua Thien Hue Province, so we chose Da Nang as the first city of Viet Nam to launch the route.

The carrier plans to open more routes to Khanh Hoa Province’s Nha Trang City, Kien Giang Province’s Phu Quoc, and Lam Dong Province’s Da Lat City in the coming time, bringing convenience to outgoing and incoming guests between countries.

According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, from December 24, 2022 - January 2, 2023, more than 140,000 air passengers are expected to arrive at Da Nang International Airport from about 925 flights, including 562 domestic flights and 390 international ones.

There are 23 airlines operating international routes to Da Nang.

The Tigerair Taiwan is the first and only low-cost airline in Taiwan. It has till date operated 15 flights to Japan, South Korea, Macau (China), Thailand, the Philippines, Viet Nam and other destinations in Asia, providing a rich and diverse selection for visitors.
