The programme aimed to attract more visitors from the potential Indian market, and at the same time, promote the city's tourism.

At the ceremony, the Department of Tourism gave flowers, gifts and extended Tet wishes to the couple, the bride Tuisha and the groom Gaurav.

In addition, the programme also featured the presence of Vietnamese families in traditional red ‘ao dai’ (the traditional Vietnamese costume) to symbolise the wishes of family harmony and prosperity.

It is known that about 350 guests, 100 event staff, chefs and more than 2 tonnes of materials, costumes and props were transported from India to Da Nang to prepare for the wedding ceremony.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the city is very interested in introducing Da Nang’s image as an ideal destination for wedding events to the Indian tourist market through many other activities such as participating in the South Asia Travel and Tourism Fair (SATTE) and welcoming famtrips for representatives from Indian wedding event companies.

Mr. Satish Ramnani, the Director of Veydaa Events, a pioneer in bringing Indian weddings to Da Nang, said that in 2023, the company is planning two other weddings in the central coastal Vietnamese hub of tourism.

The city, with its luxurious accommodation infrastructure, has a lot of potential to become an attractive wedding destination for Indian tourists.

However, Da Nang needs to have more supportive and preferential policies for this segment so that Indian tourists can feel secure when organising wedding parties with many rituals and complexities in the supply process.

It is known that the operation of direct flights from Da Nang to major cities of India over the past time has brought positive growth from the Indian tourist source market.

In 2022 alone, India ranked fifth in the top 10 international tourist sources for Da Nang with an estimated total of 39,359 visitors, accounting for 4.66% of the structure of international travelers to Da Nang.
