Logistics centres on way to take shape in Da Nang

According to the Da Nang Department of Transport, based on the Prime Minister-approved master plan on the logistics centre system development in Viet Nam until 2020, with a vision to 2030, the national government prioritises the development of 2 logistics centres in Da Nang, and the same number in the Economic Corridor Roads 14B and No.9 in the North Central Region and Central Coast.

Currently, in Da Nang, there are 2 logistics centres in operation, namely: Transimex Logistics Centre operating since September 9, 2017, covering an area of 1.62ha in Hoa Cam Industrial Park (IP) and the 2.5ha Yusen Logistics Da Nang Logistics Centre worth US$5.1 million in the expanded Hoa Khanh IP in operation since 2018. The duo provide customers with logistics services with high quality warehouse system, modern utilities and especially advanced management IT systems.

The city is pouring investment into the building of a logistics centre in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, the Hoa Nhon Logistics Center and other areas in accordance with the planning to develop urban logistics centres to meet the needs of wholesale purchasing and distribution of types of consumer goods so as to serve the daily life needs of people in the city and in the vicinity of logistics centres.

Specifically, the Hoa Nhon Logistics Centre project was granted an investment registration certificate on June 3, 2022 with a total investment of more than VND 533 billion. Work is slated to commence on this project in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The 27.45ha logistics centre of the Da Nang Hi-tech Park that is planned exclusively for logistics service projects is under construction at present.
