Parades of flower-decorated vehicles mark the city's 20 years
As part of Da Nang’s celebrations to mark the city’s 20th anniversary of its recognition as a centrally-governed city on 1 January 1997, a contest entitled ‘Street Parades of Flower-decorated Vehicles’ is taking place in the city on the evenings of yesterday and today.
Organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the event attracts a total of 20 flower-decorated vehicles from local agencies and districts.
Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, participating vehicles showcase their eye-catching decorations, and they feature impressive sound and lighting systems to attract great deal of attention from local residents and visitors.
The parade route starts at a section of 2 September street near the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture - Rong (Dragon) Bridge - Ngo Quyen - Le Van Hien - the Ngu Hanh Son District Administration Centre, and returns to the starting position.
The vehicles also parade along Le Van Hien - Ngo Quyen - Yet Kieu - Le Duc Tho - Thuan Phuoc Bridge - Dong Da - Tran Cao Van - and Dung Sy Thanh Khe.
They also pass major streets in Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu districts, including Kinh Duong Vuong - Nguyen Sinh Sac - Nguyen Luong Bang - Au Co - Ngo Van So -Ton Duc Thang - Hue T-junction overpass - Dien Bien Phu - and Ha Huy Tap.
