SHB DN made a confident start but striker Eydison missed several scoring chances during a first half which ended 0-0.
In the second half, coach Le Huynh Duc tried to strengthen their attacks by substituting Ha Duc Chinh for A Mit, and Vu Phong for Minh Tam. Meanwhile, Binh Duong focused on defensive and rapid counter-attack tactics.
SHB DN scored in the 77th minute thanks to midfielder Nguyen Thanh Hai’s perfect long shot. However, their joy was short-lived as Binh Duong’s striker Anh Duc levelled the scores with a powerful header only 7 minutes later.
In the other matches, Sai Gon beat Quang Nam 2-1 at home, whilst Thanh Hoa fought back from 2-0 down to defeat Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-3 at the Pleiku Stadium, and they return to top position.
Hai Phong had a 3-1 home win over Can Tho, and Song Lam Nghe An defeated Ho Chi Minh City 2-1 at home. Sanna Khanh Hoa managed a 1-1 home draw against Ha Noi, whilst Long An suffered a 1-2 home loss to Quang Ninh.
SHB DN’s next game is at second-from-bottom Can Tho on Sunday 16 April at 5.00pm.
