Therefore, leaders of the city’s sports sector have paid special attention to sending swimmers to train abroad in order to enhance their professional skills.

In particular, over recent months, talented swimmer Hoang Quy Phuoc has been in strict training in the BVSC Zugló Swimming Club, Hungary.

In addition to strict training sessions, Phuoc had the opportunity to compete in some international swimming tournaments, and to practise with some Hungarian talented swimmers. They are Péter Bernek who won gold medal in the men’s 400m freestyle event at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships and the 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships, and Benjámin Grátz who took the bronze medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships.

Mr Phan Thanh Toai, the Head of the municipal Diving and Swimming Club, said Phuoc has produced excellent performances at his recent training courses in Hungary. His professional parameters are stable and better than some of his rivals in the men’s 100m butterfly, and 100m and 200m freestyle events.

Also, he has high hopes of Phuoc to make his greater efforts in order to beat his strong opponents such as Nguyen Huy Hoang from Quang Binh Province, Le Paul Nguyen from An Giang Province, Luong Jeremy from Ho Chi Minh City, and Nguyen Ngoc Huynh from Dong Nai Province.

Like Phuoc, promising talented swimmers Ngo Dinh Chuyen, Ngo Van Phat, Tran Dinh Thanh and Hoang Pham Nhat Linh, along with their coach Pham Truong Giang, have been sent to Hungary for short-term training courses at the BVSC Zugló Swimming Club since the start of this year.

These swimmers are members of the city’s male relay team in the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relay events.

Thanks to this, local swimmers now feel more confident and get ready for bringing 2 gold medals at the forthcoming festival for the city due to their significantly improved professional skills.

In addition, the Da Nang team are putting hope in swimmer Ngo Dinh Chuyen who will compete in the men’s 50m butterfly, and 50m and 100m freestyle events.

However, the young local swimmers should have to worry about Le Paul Nguyen from An Giang Province who is dominating the men’s short distance events.
