Vietnamese traditional music show enchants Da Nang audiences
A Vietnamese traditional music show, which took place on Tuesday evening on Nhu Nguyet Street, enchanted Da Nang audiences, including foreign nationals in the city and tourists, with traditional folk music, song and dance, and ‘bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards).
A folk song called ‘Ly Di Cho’ sung by singers from the Hai Chau District-based Culture and Sports Centre |
Organised by Da Nang Culture and Movie Centre, the music event entitled ‘Hometown Melody’ featured impressive performances by artistes from district-level clubs of Traditional Music and Folk Songs, and Song Han Bai Choi Club. The performances all showcased the beauty of Da Nang and its people, as well as praise the Vietnamese people’s great love for their home country.
The music event aimed to preserve and promote the value of ‘bai choi’, a time-honoured traditional folk arts form, as well as promote the culture of Da Nang and enhance spiritual life of Da Nang people in the run-up to Tet Festival.
