Over the years, Da Nang’s high-achievement sports have gained numerous remarkable achievements, thereby significantly contributing to cementing the city's position as one of prestigious sports and physical training centres in Central Viet Nam, and in Viet Nam at large.

These has been mainly attributed to great efforts made by leaders of the city’s sports sector in effectively implementing a high-performance sports development strategy, and establishing relationships with countries with developed sports sectors and a number of international sports organisations.
Director of the Da Nang Athlete Training Centre Nguyen Dong Hai affirmed "From the international cooperation relationships, over the past time, the competition level of Da Nang’s athletes has been improved significantly. The international cooperation and support have importantly contributed to the achievements of the swimming, athletics, and weightlifting teams in Da Nang in the national and international sports arenas. Specifically, the Hungarian Club BVSC Zuglo where many local athletes have been in training in preparation for water sports competitions at home and abroad has played an important role in the development of Da Nang's water sports such as swimming, boating, etc”.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao said, the local sports sector has received the permission from the municipal government to ask for support from countries with developed sports such as China, Thailand, and South Korea in providing training courses for local athletes.
In particular, all most of members of the city’s swimming, rowing and canoeing teams have been trained in Hungary under the support of the BVSC Zuglo Club. Until now, these teams have all secured the top positions in the domestic sports arena.
Meanwhile, both Taekwondo and Sailing teams have been receiving active support from South Korean organizations and individuals.
In his recent meeting with Director Hai, the President of the Thai Judo Federation Rojanachiva Hassabodin highly praised the great potential of Da Nang’s sports sector as well as Da Nang athletes’ very professional training attitude.
Therefore, he said he was willing to act as a bridge to facilitate badminton and tennis teams in Da Nang to join training courses in Thailand, apart from boxing and taekwondo teams, to develop better in the future.
He acknowledged that it would be convenient for Da Nang sports teams to train in Thailand due to the similarity between the two sports sectors, instead of focusing too much on cooperation with countries with outstanding qualifications.
Currently, Da Nang’s sports sector has been encountering difficulties in promoting cooperation relations with international sports organizations worldwide due to the complicated developments of COVID-19. However, it is hoped that, the local sports sector’s cooperation ties with other sports organisations worldwide will be reinforced for years to come, hereby contributing significantly to driving the development of local sports sector.
