Da Nang to celebrate International Museum Day with various activities
The Museum of Da Nang plans to organise a number of activities across the city in celebration of International Museum Day (May 18).
Specifically, the ‘Children explore museum’ programme will take place from May 17 - 20. Participating children will have the chance to visit the arts spaces of the museum, learn about how to print Dong Ho folk paintings, and participate in a drawing contest.
Between May 20 - 22, the Museum of Da Nang will work with the Da Nang University of Architecture to organise an art exhibition themed ‘Heading out to sea’ to serve locals and visitors. The intention of the exhibition is to recreate fishing activities and spread the traditional cultural values of fishing villages.
Visitors to the exhibition will be told about touching stories reflecting the attachment between people and the sea, enjoy the beauty of architectural works of fishing villages in the past and at the present, and explore livelihoods at sea of local fishermen through the pages of books and daily activities of fishing villages.
Also, they will have a chance to participate in a number of interesting activities, including a writing contest about fishing villages and islands, a dance competition, and an orchid festival.
