The Da Nang government held an awards ceremony on Saturday morning to honour outstanding local writers, artists and and reporters whose works have won 4^th municipal Literature and Arts Awards. Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh attended at the event.

At the event, 8 Prizes A, 16 Prizes B, 19 Prizes C and 16 consolation prizes were presented to outstanding entrants.

Amongst, a number of works were highly appreciated in international forums such as a documentary film by Doan Hong Le and his associates, and an architectural work designed by Ho Khue and his associates.

Moreover, many of the works reflected hot issues which drew much attention from the public, including a collection of photos about COVID-19 by photographer Huynh Van Truyen, and a documentary film produced by Pham Hong Lien and his associates.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Literature and Arts Associations Bui Van Tieng said the 4^th Da Nang Literature and Arts Awards attracted a combined total of 167 works by authors and groups of authors. As a result, 59 outstanding works were honoured with the municipal-level Literature and Arts Awards.

Mr. Tieng remarked most of entrants demonstrated the artistic creativity of artists and writers, thereby significantly contributing to promoting the development of Da Nang’s literature and arts field in particular, and building its own cultural brand in general.

He took the opportunity to thanks awards-winning writers and artists who, with their high-quality artistic work, have created another milestone in the development of literature and arts in Da Nang over the past 5 years.

Initiated in 2002, the municipal-level Literature and Arts Awards aims to encourage creative activities, as well as to recognize and praise the efforts of artists, actors, choreographers and directors involved in the field of literature - arts.
