Starting in 2008, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) has taken place 10 times, and during these festivals, the Vietnamese and international fireworks teams treated large numbers of city dwellers and millions of friends at home and abroad with highly impressive fireworks display on the background of melodious music full of poetry about life, people, sacred and magical lands and longing for a peaceful and friendly world.

Since then, DIFF has become a festival of "white nights" or “sleepless nights” along the banks of the romantic Han River, a typical product of the dynamic and creative city festivals and events.

It brings about sufficient amount of time for tourists near and far to experience a Da Nang with heroic historical events, sincere hospitable people, delicious dishes of Quang origin, beaches filled with sunlight; and the breathtaking scenery of the mountains and forests on the top of Ba Na - Nui Chua.

However, more than 2 years ago, COVID-19 suddenly appeared and quickly covered all over the world and claimed the lives of millions of people. In the vortex of the epidemic, the city faced all kinds of difficulties and serious challenges both economically and socially. Therefore, at that time, many people who loved the scenes of fireworks performances had to be extremely regretful.

And now, when life returned to normal after COVID-19, starting from the night of June 2 and lasting until July 8, the DIFF event marks their much-awaited comeback with the tough yet interesting competition among 7 international teams, namely Canada, the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Finland and the home team Viet Nam, including the team that won the previous championship.

Under the theme ‘The world without distance’, DIFF 2023 wants to send a highly meaningful message to friends near and far, connecting people with others from different time and space distances and making trips to dear Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

And your presence in Da Nang during the festival is strong piece of proof of the strong recovery of tourism in Viet Nam, and the world at large. From the recovery of this spearhead "smokeless industry", it will contribute to gradually reviving the economy after a long time struggling with the raging pandemic.

With that mainstream, with that noble humanistic aspiration, over the past few months, the Da Nang government and people from all walks of life in Da Nang  have devoted their great efforts to prepare for DIFF days and a series of accompanying events in the most thoughtful, the safest and the most secure manner.

In particular, the DIFF organisers, with the help of Global 2000 consulting company, which boasts a lot of experience in organising such a large-scale international event, have actively help the teams easily and quickly access infrastructure facilities in a bid to achieve the highest possible quality of their fireworks performances.

At the same time, at the areas for thousands of spectators on both banks of the Han River, you can enjoy the best of both sound and light effects, as well as other highly inviting related activities.

It can be said that, 15 years ago, for the first time, DIFF brought to viewers a strange and surprising event, unspeakable excitement with the sound and bright fireworks displays made a harmonious combination on the clear blue water.

And now, the returning of the 11^th DIFF-2023 event to Da Nang, both locals and tourists near and far will be immerse themselves into a magical fireworks nights with new sentimental levels and strong desires for a good life and more poetic journeys, and even wishes for a peaceful world for people regardless of colour, ethnicity, religion to come closer together, understand each other better and join hands to make the earth forever green.

With what Da Nang has been doing to make the DIFF 2023 a complete success, it is also the start of a series of events that will take place in the beloved Central region, including Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Beach Festival and Ninh Thuan Grape - Wine Festival. And tonight, the magical fireworks nights on the banks of the romantic Han River are going to kick off again!
