Univeristy of Da Nang increase efforts to train human reasourses for Laos
During his reception on Monday for Lao Ambassador to Viet Nam Sengphet Houngboungnuang on the occasion of Bunpimay – the Lao traditional New Year Festival, Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, the Director of the University of Da Nang (UDN) expressed his delight at fruitful results from UDN- Lao Cooperation Programmes in Education.
Mr Vu said UDN has till date entered into cooperation agreements with the National University of Laos, 4 other universities, along with some junior colleges and high schools in Laos to offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses to Lao students. In addition, UDN has opened Vietnamese language courses for Lao government officials.
Since 2002, UDN has provided training to over 1,500 Lao students in Da Nang, contributing to delivering high quality human resources to Laos in a bid to drive their local growth.
For his part, the Lao diplomat said the purpose of his visit to Da Nang is to boost bilateral cooperation in education between UDN and Laos. He also highlighted that he was ready to create favourable conditions for UDN to open its branch in Laos, and offer more Vietnamese language courses to Lao students in an effort to increase the number of Lao graduates from UDN. Lao Ambassador added that this will help to promote the development of his country.
