In 2020, the Da Nang Journalists' Association in collaboration with the Bao Nguyen Food and Event Company organised a charity concert entitled ‘Beloved Quang Nam Province’ with the aim to raise funds for flood victims in Quang Nam Province.

As a result, a combined total of nearly VND200 million was raised from generous donors at the event. All donated money was then handed over to the Tra Nam Semi-Boarding Secondary and Primary School for Ethnic Minority Pupils to upgrade its library and gymnasium.

The gymnasium features a covered playground, and some sports facilities such as basketball, volleyball and badminton. Meanwhile, the friendly library boasts a spacious reading space.

On the occasion, the Da Nang Publishing House donated more than 300 books to school pupils, along with uniforms to school teachers. This contributed to developing reading culture at school, as well as encouraging school pupils to study hard in order to become useful citizens in society.

Mr. Vo Dang Chin, the Principal of the Tra Nam Semi-Boarding Secondary and Primary School for Ethnic Minority Pupils, said that the whole school has 12 classes with a total of 323 pupils. The school is in the high mountains, so the living and playing conditions for semi-boarding pupils here are still limited.

He expressed his sincere thanks to the city’s Journalists Association and other units for their special care and active support for his school. He emphasised that this meaningful activity showed kindness of people and met the children's needs for learning, living and playing.
