The event aimed to connect and share knowledge, and exchange ideas and experience, in a bid to support the development of innovative startup ecosystems in Da Nang and its neighbouring province of Quang Nam.

According to the municipal Department of Science and Technology, Da Nang has been identified by the National Government as one of the three national innovation start-up centres, playing a vital role in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.

Till date, the city has issued more than 20 support policies for startups. A network of 5 incubators, 4 investment funds, 2 creative spaces, 10 co-working spaces, 10 startup clubs, and 3 innovation start-up support centres have been established. A total of VND5.1 billion from the city budget has gone to support 46 enterprises to innovate technologies.

Many startups in the city have attracted investment capital from domestic and international investment funds.

In particular, Da Nang has twice received the title of "Attractive City for Innovation Startups" in 2020 and 2022 by the Viet Nam Software and Information Technology Services Association.

The connection of the Da Nang - Quang Nam startup ecosystems significantly contributes to making the most of advantages and resources of the two localities to expand business activities; develop more innovative startup ideas and products; and create opportunities to share financial resources, human resources and infrastructure. This will help create a large startup community, so startups are convenient in finding and attracting investment capital from an extensive network of investors.

The seminar also featured startup stories; solutions, proposals and recommendations on developing the startup ecosystem; orientation and support for innovative startup activities at the FPT University Da Nang; and the sharing of innovative startup ideas between the startup communities of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.
