The 4^th Congress of the Da Nang Branch of the Viet Nam-Germany  Friendship Association in its 2014 - 2019 tenure took place in the city last Saturday.

Over the 2009 - 2014 tenure, the Association worked with local relevant agencies, their partners and German expatriates in the city to organise numerous meaningful activities.  They included cultural and people-to-people exchanges, seminars, talks and film screenings.  These have helped to further deepen Viet Nam-Germany friendly relations.

One of the key tasks identified at the event for the 2014 - 2019 tenure is to appeal for more German businesses to invest in the city.  Also, great importance will be attached to fostering the bilateral cooperative relationship, friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Da Nang and Germany.  There will be an increase in the number of activities aimed at enhancing bilateral friendship and solidarity, in combination with appeals for more financial aid from German non-governmental organisations.  In addition, an emphasis will be on consolidating the existing partnerships and establishing new ones, as well as organising more exchange activities between Da Nang and German localities.  Local residents who once studied or worked in Germany will be encouraged to join the Association.
