During his reception for his Japanese guests, Vice Chairman Dung expressed his delight at fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation programmes with Japan over recent years.
He remarked that his city has to date established official relationships with Japanese cities of Kawasaki, Sankai, Yokohama and Kisarazu, as well as set up bilateral cooperative ties with over 20 other provinces and cities in Japan.
Currently, Da Nang is now home to more than 180 Japanese-funded projects with a total investment of about US$ 800 million. These projects mainly involve such aspects as manufacturing, processing, electronics, education, and tourism.
In addition, numerous cultural exchange activities between Da Nang and the provinces and cities of Japan are organised, thereby contributing to strengthening the relationships between the two sides.
Mr Dung hoped that even more businesses from the Kansai region would invest into Da Nang in the coming time.
During their meeting with the Da Nang leader, and representatives from municipal departments and agencies, Japanese businesspeople were provided with useful information on the city’s investment attraction orientations. Accordingly, the city has been appealing for investment into such aspects as hi-tech and dedicated information technology parks, seaports, support industries, tourism, education, healthcare, human resource training, and people-to-people exchange.
