On Monday, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho warmly received Spanish Ambassador to Viet Nam Maria Jesus Figa Lopez Palop.

During his reception for the Spanish guest, Chairman Tho remarked his city has been focusing on developing its spearhead economic sectors to realise its goal of making the city become one of the leading socio-economic development centres in the country, and Southeast Asia as a whole.

The city leader said Da Nang is welcoming domestic and foreign investment in its key projects on building Lien Chieu Port, wastewater treatment and collection plants, international hospitals, vocational training centres, transport infrastructure, express buses, and subways.

The host also asked the help from the Spanish diplomat to encourage even more investors from her country to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang.

In reply, Spanish ambassador Palop remarked that Spain and Da Nang boast great potential for cooperation in the aspects of waste treatment, transport infrastructure development, seaports, and tourism.

Ms Maria Jesus Figa Lopez Palop also asked the Da Nang authorities to create very favourable conditions for Spanish businesses to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in the city in the time ahead.
