Greetings extended to Laotian consulate in Da Nang on Bunpimay

On Wednesday morning, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary cum Head of the National Assembly Deputies' delegation Nguyen Van Quang, visited and sent their greetings to the staff of the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang on the occasion of their traditional Bunpimay New Year festival 2022.

The group of visitors also included Chairman of the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Ngo Xuan Thang, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Le Minh Trung, and Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee cum Chairman of the Da Nang chapter of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association Ho Ky Minh.

On behalf of the city leaders, Secretary Quang extended his best wishes to the Laotian staff. He expressed his wish that the relationship between Da Nang and the south-central provinces of Laos in particular, the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general, would be tightened and lifted to a new height.

The city Party chief Quang said that 2022 marked the 60th anniversary of the Viet Nam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962 - 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam - Laos Amity and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977 - 2022).

Therefore, the city plans to send its high-level delegation to south-central localities of Laos in the second quarter of 2022 in order to strengthen the friendship cooperation between Da Nang and Laotian localities.

Mr. Quang asked for the support from the Lao Consul General in Da Nang Viengxay Phommachanh to ensure the success of the upcoming working trip of the city's leaders, as well as to further develop the friendship and cooperation relationship between Da Nang and Laos localities in the time to come.

For his part, Lao Consul General in Da Nang Viengxay Phommachanh expressed his honour to welcome the city leaders on the occasion of the traditional New Year of Laos (Bunpimay).

He took the opportunity to thank the city leaders for their special care and active support for the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang to operate and develop smoothly.

“Specially, over the past two years, despite being heavily influenced by COVID-19, Da Nang has always provided active care and support for the Government and people of Laos, especially the south and central provinces of Laos, in the terms of pandemic prevention and control, and socio-economic development” added Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh.

The host remarked that in 2022, the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang will host many meaningful activities in the city in order to contribute to beautifying the Viet Nam-Laos brotherly friendship.
