The Party organisation of the Da Nang Union of the Science and Technology Associations has, in recent years, has proposed many constructive ideas and scientific works for the city’s future development, especially having provided criticism and comments on the master plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.

The statement was made by the municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang whilst attending the municipal Party Committee-hosted seminar entitled “Scientific and technological intellectuals join efforts for the city’s sustainable development” on Thursday morning.

In his remarks at the event, Secretary Quang highly appreciated the Union for its great contributions to the city's growth over the past years. Notably, the Union has been actively involved in consulting and criticising many key projects in the fields of planning, architecture, construction and environment. Many comments and criticisms were listened to and adjusted by the city leaders.

Identifying tasks in the coming time, Mr. Quang suggested the Party organisation of the Union regularly renew the content and mode of operation associated with the socio-economic development tasks.

Top priority will be given to promoting the creative intelligence of scientific and technological intellectuals in member associations, along with experts, to well implement assigned political tasks.

Special attention will be paid to issuing preferential policies to attract leading experts and scientists to work in the city for a limited time to solve pressing problems in urban planning, construction and city development.

“The city's leaders believe that the city's intellectuals, experts and scientists will continue to promote their talents and intelligence, and join forces with the local Party Committee, government and people in a bid to promote the city’s development day by day. Moreover, we are always ready to absorb and listen to suggestions and criticisms made by experts, scientists and Union members to help the city leaders make appropriate decisions ", emphasised Party Secretary Quang.

Speaking at the seminar, Standing Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet revealed that, over recent years, the Standing Board of the municipal Party Committee has focused on leading, directing and promulgating many guidelines, mechanisms and policies to build and develop the city's intellectuals.

Thanks to that, over the past 25 years, the quantity and quality of the city's scientific and technological intellectuals have been improved significantly, thereby contributing to helping Da Nang realise its target of turning itself into an economic - social - technological hub in Central Viet Nam.

Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Science and Technology Associations Vo Cong Tri said that Da Nang has now more than 300,000 people with university degrees or higher, mainly distributed in urban areas.

The intellectuals working in Party and State management agencies promote their roles and responsibilities in consulting and building scientific grounds for the formulation of guidelines and policies of the Party and authorities.
